However myself and a few mates had some other issues scanning across the vpn. Basically the scan fails and you have to use --send-ip at the end of your nmap command to get it working. Since passing the exam I have found out that others are having the same fun and have confirmed that the port is indeed closed. @Jason OSCE huh...
