Hi Kevin,
I don't believe they were playing tricks with the ports. However myself and a few mates had some other issues scanning across the vpn. Basically the scan fails and you have to use --send-ip at the end of your nmap command to get it working.
Since passing the exam I have found out that others are having the same fun and have confirmed that the port is indeed closed.

@Jason
OSCE huh... Well I can tell you that it has crossed my mind more than once. We will have to wait and see what this year brings :)

I have not taken the course yet but that port you spoke of....was it really closed or were they playing tricks with your nmap scanning parameters?

Nice one Damian.

This is the one course that I feel has really challenged me and taken me out of my comfort zone. I hope I pass it .. failing won't be an awesome Christmas present hahaha

Great job on passing the exam and a nice write up.

Still working my way through the final labs and still learning. In some cases, re-learning some of the tricks and tips to get things done in this type of environment.

I have run in to a number of odd issues on the VPN link to the labs with timeouts and weird results. Hum-ho.

The video files are excellent but I wish they would update the pdf.

Other than those minor moans, fantastic course for an amazingly reasonable price.
